わかりやすく伝えるには工夫がいる。キリスト教や昔の仏教は文化も言葉も違う何億という人々に伝えたのだから、コミュニケーション力の源泉だ。イエスは「見ても見ず聞いても聞かず、理解できない」人にはたとえで話した。人は実際に見ていても見たいことしか見えず、聞いていても聞きたいことしか聞こえていない。「種を蒔く人」は神の言葉でさえも良い土地に蒔かないと実を結ばないという譬えだ。

マタイによる福音書
13:01その日、イエスは家を出て、湖のほとりに座っておられた。 13:02すると、大勢の群衆がそばに集まって来たので、イエスは舟に乗って腰を下ろされた。群衆は皆岸辺に立っていた。 13:03イエスはたとえを用いて彼らに多くのことを語られた。「種を蒔く人が種蒔きに出て行った。13:04蒔いている間に、ある種は道端に落ち、鳥が来て食べてしまった。 13:05ほかの種は、石だらけで土の少ない所に落ち、そこは土が浅いのですぐ芽を出した。 13:06しかし、日が昇ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。 13:07ほかの種は茨の間に落ち、茨が伸びてそれをふさいでしまった。13:08ところが、ほかの種は、良い土地に落ち、実を結んで、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍にもなった。 13:09耳のある者は聞きなさい。」 13:10弟子たちはイエスに近寄って、「なぜ、あの人たちにはたとえを用いてお話しになるのですか」と言った。 13:11イエスはお答えになった。「あなたがたには天の国の秘密を悟ることが許されているが、あの人たちには許されていないからである。 13:12持っている人は更に与えられて豊かになるが、持っていない人は持っているものまでも取り上げられる。 13:13だから、彼らにはたとえを用いて話すのだ。見ても見ず、聞いても聞かず、理解できないからである。 13:14イザヤの預言は、彼らによって実現した。『あなたたちは聞くには聞くが、決して理解せず、見るには見るが、決して認めない。 13:15この民の心は鈍り、耳は遠くなり、目は閉じてしまった。こうして、彼らは目で見ることなく、耳で聞くことなく、心で理解せず、悔い改めない。わたしは彼らをいやさない。』 13:16しかし、あなたがたの目は見ているから幸いだ。あなたがたの耳は聞いているから幸いだ。 13:17はっきり言っておく。多くの預言者や正しい人たちは、あなたがたが見ているものを見たかったが、見ることができず、あなたがたが聞いているものを聞きたかったが、聞けなかったのである。」 13:18「だから、種を蒔く人のたとえを聞きなさい。 13:19だれでも御国の言葉を聞いて悟らなければ、悪い者が来て、心の中に蒔かれたものを奪い取る。道端に蒔かれたものとは、こういう人である。 13:20石だらけの所に蒔かれたものとは、御言葉を聞いて、すぐ喜んで受け入れるが、 13:21自分には根がないので、しばらくは続いても、御言葉のために艱難や迫害が起こると、すぐにつまずいてしまう人である。 13:22茨の中に蒔かれたものとは、御言葉を聞くが、世の思い煩いや富の誘惑が御言葉を覆いふさいで、実らない人である。 13:23良い土地に蒔かれたものとは、御言葉を聞いて悟る人であり、あるものは百倍、あるものは六十倍、あるものは三十倍の実を結ぶのである。」
マルコによる福音書 第４章(CHAPTER 4)
4:1イエスはまたも、海べで教えはじめられた。おびただしい群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは舟に乗ってすわったまま、海上におられ、群衆はみな海に沿って陸地にいた。 4:2イエスは譬で多くの事を教えられたが、その教の中で彼らにこう言われた、 4:3「聞きなさい、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。 4:4まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると、鳥がきて食べてしまった。 4:5ほかの種は土の薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、 4:6日が上ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。 4:7ほかの種はいばらの中に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまったので、実を結ばなかった。 4:8ほかの種は良い地に落ちた。そしてはえて、育って、ますます実を結び、三十倍、六十倍、百倍にもなった」。 4:9そして言われた、「聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」。

18 Hear you therefore the parable of the sower. 19 When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, there comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart: this is he that received the seed by the way side. 20 And he that received the seed upon stony ground, is he that hears the word, and immediately receives it with joy. 21 Yet has he not root in himself, but is only for a time: and when there arises tribulation and persecution because of the word, he is presently scandalized. 22 And he that received the seed among thorns, is he that hears the word, and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches chokes up the word, and he becomes fruitless. 23 But he that received the seed upon good ground, is he that hears the word, and understands, and bears fruit, and yields the one an hundredfold, and another sixty, and another thirty.
